Surabaya, Suarajatim.com - In an effort to bolster the already robust trade ties between Hong Kong and Indonesia, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is gearing up to host a series of international trade fairs early next year.
Ronald Ho, the Regional Director for Southeast Asia & South Asia at HKTDC, unveiled plans for ten trade fairs during a recent announcement. These events are designed to provide ideal platforms for traders and suppliers from Indonesia to expand their business footprint into new markets.

Ronald Ho emphasized the significance of these trade exhibitions, citing the success of the 24 international trade exhibitions held in Hong Kong since the city fully reopened its borders in February.
"These events attracted over 400,000 buyers and exhibitors from 199 countries and regions, reinforcing Hong Kong's status as a leading trading and convention center. Indonesia, currently Hong Kong's 25th largest trading partner, has seen total trade value between the two regions reach USD 3.86 billion by October 2023. Hong Kong's efforts to strengthen trade relations include encouraging corporations in Indonesia to explore business opportunities and tap into global markets through HKTDC exhibitions," said Ronald Ho in Media Briefing (Dec 14, 2023).
Among the notable trade fairs, the HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, scheduled for 8-11 January 2024, will feature a diverse range of products, including smart toys and a new Collectible Toys zone. Sustainability will take center stage with the introduction of a Green Toys zone.
Similarly, the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, running concurrently, will showcase over 2,200 global exhibitors presenting quality baby products, smart toys, and creative stationery. Themed zones, such as the Brand Name Gallery and ODM Strollers and Gear zone, aim to cater to diverse buying needs.
The HKTDC Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair, another concurrent event, will highlight expanded product categories, including school supplies, learning resources, and green stationery.
Other trade fairs, including those dedicated to diamonds, gems, pearls, lighting, electronics, and home products, are poised to contribute to the strengthening of trade links between Hong Kong and Indonesia.(*)
