Lion Air baggage allowance rules
Jakarta, Suarajatim.com - When traveling by plane, every passenger must comply with the rules and regulations regarding luggage. Each airline has different rules, including Lion Air.

Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, explained that airplane luggage consists of two types: carry-on luggage and checked luggage. Carry-on luggage is items or belongings that passengers are allowed to bring into the cabin, while checked luggage is items that are handed over to the airline to be transported on the same plane.

Lion Air has regulations regarding the luggage that passengers can bring. Economy class passengers are allowed to bring carry-on luggage with a weight limit of 7 kg and dimensions of 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm.

In addition, economy class passengers are also allowed to use checked luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg, which will incur an additional fee if it exceeds the capacity.

However, there are several types of items that are prohibited from being brought as airplane luggage, such as strong magnetic materials, explosives, toxic substances, all types of stoves, high-pressure gas, and flammable materials.

Passengers are allowed to bring personal items such as handbags, reading materials, cameras, and baby equipment. Valuable items such as cash, financial documents, jewelry, cameras, phones, and portable electronic devices are also allowed to be brought.

There are several special provisions for Lion Air's airplane luggage, including allowing passengers to bring baby necessities such as bottles, food, and diapers during the flight, but not exceeding 5 kg.

Passengers are also prohibited from bringing chemicals and sharp objects during the flight. All liquid items such as shampoo, soap, and perfume must also be properly and safely arranged. Baby necessities such as diapers, bottles, and food for consumption during the flight should not exceed 5 kg.

If passengers need luggage with more weight or quantity, they can purchase a prepaid baggage quota before departure. The staff will weigh the luggage and if it exceeds 20 kg, an additional fee will be charged to transport it as checked luggage.

Passengers whose tickets do not include baggage capacity will also be charged a fee. Therefore, it is advisable for passengers to understand the rules and regulations regarding airplane luggage before traveling with Lion Air.
