Suarajatim.com - The food and beverage packaging, promotional printing, and textile and apparel printing industries are undergoing significant transformation and are projected to continue growing, thus making a substantial contribution to the national economy.
Political contests, such as the General Election in February and the Regional Elections in November 2024, are key drivers of this growth. These events have had a positive impact, creating tremendous momentum for the printing industry, marked by a significant increase in sales of digital printing machines and advertising businesses such as billboards, digital screen printing, and sticker printing this year.
Krista Exhibitions, the organizer of international and largest exhibitions in Eastern Indonesia, has officially opened the Surabaya Printing Expo (SPE) 2024 at Grand City Surabaya. The expo begins today, July 11, and will run until Sunday, July 14, 2024. This international exhibition showcases printing machines such as offset and digital printers, textile printing, screen printing, printing services, and the latest printing tools and technologies.

During the opening ceremony on July 11, 2024, Daud D. Salim, CEO of Krista Exhibitions, expressed hope that the four-day SPE exhibition would boost the printing industry in Indonesia and provide an excellent opportunity for graphic entrepreneurs to innovate and produce superior products.
"This year’s exhibition involves 230 companies and 10 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), a notable increase from previous years in both participant numbers and the printing technologies displayed. The expo features a wide range of printing technologies, from small to large scale, and includes seminars and workshops to keep industry players updated with the latest in the printing industry," he said.
Ahmad Mughira Nurhani, Chairman of the Indonesian Printing Companies Association (PPGI), emphasized the importance of attending SPE for graphic entrepreneurs. He highlighted that the presence of graphic service and equipment providers at this exhibition would offer valuable insights for business planning.
The Surabaya Printing Expo 2024 includes various workshops and seminars, such as PPGI's "Workshop Packaging & Branding for SMEs" and "Trends in Innovation and Design Business in the Printing Industry," a seminar by Print Pack Magazine titled "AI & Printing Business in Indonesia, Trends and Solutions," and a seminar by the Indonesian Printing Community (KOPI) on "Exploring Packaging Print Business Potential."
